So its been a while now that I've been playing around with distros and getting into linux, but one of the things that I do miss is the ability to make a library out of folders. The library can then be accessed instead of having to go through each folder separately.

I've looked around but could not find something similar in Linux. Is there such a tool or not?

...overlayfs was the last thing I looked at :o

Thanks :)

Never heard of folder libraries before.

Still don't exactly understand what you would use it for, could you elaborate?

e.g. I have drive A and B with folders 1 and 2:
Normally in windows you would create a library and then add those folders to it. Then when you open that library you can set the view options that it appears as if you are in a single folder with all the files from folder 1 and 2 instead of actually having to go to folder 1 or 2 to see their contents.

Would be nice if I can then in linux somehow get the contents of say series on hdd1 and hdd2 to appear as one in "series".

Make your own symbolic links into a single folder? That way you have a Library of whatever you want.
