I am looking for a windows based media player. One where i can save my series, movies folders. Something like xbmc. What are you guys using?

XBMC runs on windows.

For regular stuff I just use VLC.

You could just save your media wherever you want (on said Windows box) and use VLC to watch. Simple enough.
...or go the Plex or XBMC (depending on your requirements) route for a more 'all-round' experience.
