Overview
IT School Innovation is looking for a passionate and talented C# developer to join our Windows team. You will be directly involved in developing the Windows Surface and Windows Metro version of our flagship mobile application, as well as working on internal tools that support our system. Working on our app is both challenging and rewarding since it involves concepts such as server communication, webviews, UI/UX design (using XAML), encryption, databases, Google APIs, media player technologies, etc. You will collaborate with developers working on other mobile platforms, as well as server programmers and designers, to make exciting new features happen.

Responsibilities
  • Design, architect, and develop the next generation of features for our Windows Surface and Metro app. Write correct, concise and robust code.
  • Develop and maintain in-house C# applications when required.
  • Maintain existing codebase and fix bugs where needed.
  • Help design innovative new features, and solve difficult problems using novel approaches.

Requirements
  • Computer Science degree, or equivalent knowledge.
  • Operate in a fast-moving, execution-oriented environment. We don’t expect you to know everything immediately, but we expect you to be inquisitive, to learn what you need to, and to ask questions. Build off the knowledge we already have.
  • Ability to self-motivate, to plan and meet deadlines without constant oversight, and the desire to write the most elegant code for the job. Our team is small, but driven. The ability to take ownership of a task and shepherd it to fruition by yourself is critical; we expect a very high degree of personal responsibility. You will have the power to dictate the final result of your work, but it will be up to you to get it there.
  • Knowledge or experience in WinRT/Metro development will be beneficial.
  • Understanding of CS, software design principles, and a strong desire to learn new things.
  • Since we do a lot of work with the EPUB standard (especially developing tools to help with EPUB development), any experience in this field is beneficial.
  • Basic web technology knowledge is required.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills and a strong teamwork ethic.
