I have seen the future: Windows $NEXT_VERSION build $MOCKUP.

I tried it on a low-end netbook with four Core 2 Duo chips and only 8 gig of memory, and trust me: $NEXT_VERSION is shaping up to be one heck of a product.

WordPad and Paint have seen major overhauls to their user interfaces. Forget the freetards and their "distros" full of all sorts of useless shovelware like "FireFox" and "OpenOffice" and, haha, "GIMP"! - the bundled software with Windows $NEXT_VERSION is clear, simple, sparse and to-the-point. The much-loved $HATED user interface from Office $HATED_VERSION is now part of WordPad and Paint!

The controversial Digital Rights Management system in Vista has been worked over, with user-downloadable "tilt bits," which you can configure to your own liking. It'll require every user to supply a blood sample for DNA analysis, and the beta nearly took my finger off, but of course that's only if you want to play premium content. The Blu-Ray(tm) of Battlefield Earth was unbelievable on this operating system.

A release candidate should be available by the end of this year. There's just no way that Steve "Trains Run On Time" Ballmer will miss the Christmas deadline. The final release should leave the midnight queues on Vista release day - the street riots, the water cannons, the rubber bullets - in the shade.

I am so excited about $NEXT_VERSION of Windows. It will go beyond just solving all of the problems with $CURRENT_VERSION, it will be an entirely new paradigm. Forget about security problems, those are all fixed in $NEXT_VERSION. And they're finally ridding themselves of $ANCIENT_LEGACY_STUFF.

Also, there'll be $DATABASE_FILESYSTEM. It'll be awesome!

I wonder how $NEXT_VERSION will compare to $NEXT_NEXT_VERSION.

M$ need to listen more. Remember that daft paper-clip help thingie or the dog. People told them to get it put to sleep, but then in the next release it was back.

Agree. For example they could just leave what works alone - ie Win XP. Trash Vista and it's upcoming Service pack for instance and just deliver the best they'll ever be able to deliver.

Peter is trying so hard. Shame! Give him credit for a well written, accurate to the point and very factual article. The best he could come up with.

Dude I run Mac OSX here and XP on 3 boxes. No way I'm upgrading. LOL.
Your nick suggests you're into Linux based distros but you're also pushing M$
junk. Strange dichotomy there... oh well. ;)

Trash?? You can't just trash what took ages to code. Rewrite, fix, smooth over, hone is the language of MS.

Some more Linux Fanboy propaganda..

Put' s on my anti-tux suite :D :D :D

I agree with that article and I've been running MS Operating Systems since 1991. I've hardly used Linux based OS'es and my main non-M$ OS is Mac OSX.
I don't think it's propaganda, I think it's spot on, from the days of Dos 5.0 and Windoze 3.0 M$ have been doing this. They killed off OS/2 Warp and later
trashed Apple and Linux based OS'es. All superior products to their own
unsafe, virus/worm vulnerable rubbish.

Rather safe say that OSX and others killed themselves. They could not and cannot compete. Simple economics of scale. Nobody force you to upgrade. I see you are very happy with M$ as it is 3:1 in their favour. So what is the next big thing you want to dish? Your campaign against Windows 7 is faltering BIG time. You done with HD TV and HD PVR yet?

I wouldn't say all of those were 'superior'. Different - yes. However in the HCI world, different can be viewed as better or worse, depending on what you are used to.
