Windows Notepad gets big upgrade

Notepad, the basic text editor that comes with Windows, will soon support Unix and classic MacOS line endings, Ars Technica reported.

Prior to supporting Unix standards, source code files written on Linux-bases and MacOS systems would have all their text appear on one line in Windows.

I guess there are still people out there who have not yet shared in the joys of Notepad++

Why not just drop it and get people to use WordPad!! Why do you need 2 text file editing apps.

IMO there is one valid reason for having both options. If you open a binary file in Notepad it just displays unprintable characters. If you open a binary file in Wordpad it tries to interpret the content as macros, Unicode or whatever, and usually crashes spectacularly...

they both mem hogs though...
N++ is far superior if you doing anything slightly more tech than merely reading/simple editing a file.

Well, so the thing can finally open config files and stuff properly

And here I was thinking maybe tabs for multiple files, line numbers, but ja, this little addition will at least confuse one or two noobs a bit less so is welcome.

Notepad++ is for those who haven't discovered Sublime :D
