Even from the start where they say Android looks like an iPhone's home screen

Do not wanna be funny but my phone looks nothing like it.

Edit: Nevermind the entire video is full of FUD (Lie after lie of competing products). Its Microsoft of the old, can not sell their own products without spreading lies about competitors.

Like the presenter's totally trendy and teenage fad hairstyle on a 50-something guy? Yeah, that'll win over the youth of today :erm:

Sorry, but Jobs totally nailed the "suave" and gallant businessman look and people loved it.

Microsoft have no idea what works...

Apart from the clock that comes standard that is indeed what most people's home screens look like.

Also you must have missed Tim Cook comparing the iPad 4 to Android at launch... or Samsung running ads comparing the S3 to the iPhone 5... and lately Amazon running ads comparing the Fire with the iPad 4. This is not a MS only thing.

Also none of those were lies, the cloud integration on the other platforms do not come even close to that of the new Windows/Windows Phone platforms. This is quite evident even between just 2 Windows 8 PC's, never mind the mobile devices.

Look I love Android, I've been running it for years, custom ROMs the works, but you have to give credit where it's due, and this does look fantastic. Also WP is a fresh take on UI design for mobile (since WP7) and if there's one thing you can't deny, it is the fact that we need start evolving the user experience on mobile, whether this is it or not is irrelevant, at least it is something different.
 
I am an android fanboy, but I downloaded W8 on my desktop this weekend, and if the mobile os is anything like the desktop, it wil be fantastic.
 
Couldn't get past 2 minutes, seriously the most personal phone, yet you can only personalise it by changing the tile size and colours. EPIC FAIL.

You must be working for Microsoft as well hey? Seeing that you are technically correct but not addressing the real points raised.

Yes other OEM's compare but they do not go look all other phones look the same when they don't. There is a certain tone in his comparisons that you do not see in the others. PS do not get me wrong, my next phone will be a Nokia Lumia 920 Pureview so its not like I am telling the world "Hey do not get a Windows Phone". What I am saying is they should focus on their good points instead of telling lies about the competitors.

Live tiles is nothing more than widgets that all look the same - I like the way they look but saying they the only ones that can do live info is a lie.

Apps section, saying all Microsoft apps are certified yes, but neglected to say what that process entail. Instead of telling lies about viruses (Hello ever heard of Google Play Bouncer???) He should have focused on the fact that they force optimization and test for bugs in the process. Also saying that the phone market is the only one that recommend apps to you is another lie. I have seen personal recommendations on both Android and iOS.

I can go on and on about his Lies but I do not have the time for it now.

It's called marketing... everyone does it.
 
I mentioned in another thread, that this could possibly be a winning recipe.
It offers more customization than (stock) ios and exercises more control than android. (Taking care of the staleness [ios] and fragmented [android] issue?)
I'm more than happy with android at the moment, but this (WP8) is looking better and better. I ran Launcher 7 for a couple of weeks and quite enjoyed it -even though I didn't think I would.
Luckily I'm not married to any one ecosystem -and whatever purchased apps I have is sure to run just fine on a SGS2 / N7 for some time to come.
On the other hand...that Nexus 4....
 
I have an HTC HD2 which is one of the most legendary phones every made, purely because I can run practically any OS your throw at it. I was a Windows Mobile fan-boy, then moved to IOS, and later to Android. The HD2 at the moment runs Windows Phone 7.8, and the experience is just sublime. It is simple and pretty, and things are easy to do. When I use an android or IOS device nowadays it is frustrating in comparison. Sure, the OS has its flaws, but from a user experience point of view it is perfect!
