Hi

I am a new user to Windows Server OS and am trying to install a new 2008 Standard server to eventually replace the existing 2003 Small Business server.

What is the best option and any links to step by step guides?

Regards,

Thanks DJNgoma, I will have a look at it now!

I assume going from 32-bit to 64-bit should not be a problem...

If you mean doing a in-line upgrade where you retain your programs and settings? That is unfortunately not an option, like the case of XP to Windows 7 which is not possible either.

My main concern is the migration of users, groups and drive mappings so programs I can do again.

Cool

Howzit big guy, did this migration myself 2 weeks ago - looked through the guides, and decided to rather format the machine
main thing is just to clone hard drives for backup purposes.
Backup each user PST file and obviously your shared folders.

On a lighter note - you are going to  SBS 2008 !

You mention upgrading to Server 2008 Standard... Are you sure you don't mean SBS 2008?
