Could someone pretty please tell me which drivers to use.

I know a lot of people used XP chipset drivers for Server 2003
Vista chipset drivers for Server 2008. Do you think Windows 7 drivers will be fine for Server 2008 R2?

Thanks

Is it a new or existing server?

If new, then give it a go, put a stress-testing app on it and let it run for a few days.

If existing... *shrugs* blame it on a virus? :D

Hi Mr Lib, new server, never thought of stress test! Will start tonight.

In general I find it a MISSION to get correct drivers for most of the server platforms.

If it's a new server, it should have come with a driver disk. Some servers even come with a bootable disk that installs the OS and drivers for you. Otherwise, the vendor's website should have everything.

I wouldn't load an incorrect driver for a server. That's going to cause a nightmare if something goes wrong.

Oh so very very VERY true!

If you want the exact drivers, goto the web site (Intel for a Intel server board) or contact them... ALWAYS use the right drivers and for servers, this is more true!

Is it a Dell, IBM, HP server you're talking about?

I've done the above and add no problems. Everybody knows Vista/7 and Server 2008/2008 R2 use the same base for drivers. It's only software you have to be wary of sometimes.
