Overview:
The candidate will perform, deploy and operate work that pertains to Client Server Services, Operating Systems operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform day to day application and user administration and other application specific maintenance.
• Deploy application patches, refreshes, and upgrades in accordance with related deployment and release schedules
• Maintain backups for the operational application to enable restore in cause of disaster recover in accordance with the backup and restore regime.
• Perform DR exercises as directed by the BCM regime.
• Resolve incidents and problems and escalate 3rd level support requirements to 3rd party support.
• Maintain run backups for Operating Systems operations, utilising deployment and maintenance guides directives.
• Interact with Products and Services to optimise and maintain Operating Systems infrastructure and operations service levels at a level that fully endorse GTI’s service level agreements with its customers.
• Support Operational Controls processes (Audits, Risk and DR & BCM governance, business process improvments, performance management, finance and business management)

Knowledge
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of Windows and VMWare
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
• Good business writing skills

Qualifications
• National Senior Certificate
• Qualification (preferably vendor certified) in the use and administration of one or more of Windows or Linux operating systems or VMware.
• FAIS Certification

Experience and Competencies
• 3-5 years’ experience in use and administration of Windows Server, VMware and Hyper-V Skills
• Demonstrable track record
• Good understandings of the current state of IT infrastructure, specifically pertaining to Microsoft for X86 servers.
• Basic ITIL exposure
• Affinity for software and programming
