Windows Seven Fonts?

I did a clean installation of Windows 7 onto my new hard drive today and everything is brilliant except the fonts. They appear blurry or fuzzy.
Now I have been Googling for most of the afternoon and there are many others with the same problem but no solutions.
I have disabled and enabled Clear Type, I changed all the fonts to several other types but nothing works.

I used XP before and I am wondering if anyone else has had any problems with this?
Is it just because I am not used to the new font rendering of 7 and will I get used to it?

It does become a struggle to read large amounts of text.

Sounds like your display driver is not working properly.

If you have cleartype enabled on a notebook, it looks absolutely brilliant. Same for CRT or LCDs on desktops.

*What kind of display are you using? New LCD or old CRT?

Newish LCD, it's about 2 years old.
I Downloaded the latest video drivers today as well, and using the onboard graphics.

I know it's a dumb question, but you are running the monitor in it's native resolution, aren't you?

I tried Seven again now and it still hurts my eyes, I'm not sure if it is just because I am not used to the text yet or what.
I took screen shots but it's hard to see exactly as I had to use paint so the quality isn't that great.
While Seven's text does look smoother and neater than XP's, it comes across as blurry or fuzzy/too glossy.

The text for Facebook in the username dialog box for example looks blurry in Seven.
Winamp XP might not be neat, but it seems so much easier to read than Sevens.

Under Control Panel, select Display settings and select "Adjust ClearType text."

Edit: Nevermind, already discussed. Seems more like a driver issue. Try drop the refresh rate to 60Hz.

Judging from your screenshots, it looks like you're just used to the non-cleartype XP rendering, vs Cleartype. Cleartype was an option on XP but was disabled by default.

Does your LCD have an Auto-Adjust button in the menu? Is the LCD plugged into the PC using a DVI cable (usually white plug) or VGA (usually blue plug) cable?

At the native monitor resolution, the screen should be crystal clear, irrespective of OS installed. Possibly a driver issue on the LCD - my BenQ 19" LCD used to hate Win 7 and I had to install the monitor using the driver disc that came with it, instead of letting Win7 pick it up automatically.

It's VGA and it is clear just text seems wrong.
I'll try find the drivers for the LCD.

Synaesthesia might be right that I am just not used to it after using XP for so long. Maybe I need to wait till I get a new screen and/or graphics card.
