Hey guy's

Question:

On the wireless connection tab at the bottom of the screen there is a small yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on it. It wasn't there before, but showed up recently every time I connect/restart computer. This forced me to make a new connection to the net work.

I was just wondering what does it mean?
And how do I get rid of it?

TIA

It means you have limited or no connectivity to the network.

Do you have both a wired and wireless connection?

You can try the following....

1) reboot your computer in the hopes of resetting your IP address in the case of a conflict with another IP address on your network
2) go to a command prompt and type IPCONFIG /renew
3) reseat all your network plugs at the back of your computer and at the network switch.

I think its only a wireless connection no (LAN network), I still can't seem to understand why suddenly the issue. It worked perfectly.

Thanks I'll give the options a try.

Limited or no connectivity to the network check your router.Have you a static or dynamic ip? Or with windows 7 it sometimes does that when you have a network conection but no access to internet.

How do you know if you have static or dynamic ip?

generally if your internet is always on (ie you dont connect to it when you want to use it) you would have a static ip. or if you buy one for a business, but i suggest you contact your isp they will know all your info.

you can also get it if you're connected via wireless to a printer that is not connected to the internet
