Windows Update Error : 0x80245003

After running Win XP Pro for nearly a year on this specific machine suddenly recieved the above error when I tried to update. Subsequently repaired the problem with the aid of MS KB 919749. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Is that the one with services you need to reactivate?

Yes Stop Auto windows update, then delete various files, restart win Update, restart PC and you're back in business except update history is lost, but updates are still applied ie you don't have to downlaod all updates again. have you had this problem as well?

Yep. cant recall the exact details though, but I think the one PC of one of my business clients (12pc's) just stopped doing updates all of a sudden and I had to fix it like described...

Sounds Right, apparently the file became corrupt

What's causing this issue? I feel as if my two pc's aren't getting updated lately, got a link?

Thanks Tony, no, doesn't look like my problem, I just feel like I haven't gotten updates in a while, it's set automatic and blah blah blah, it's probably working who knows?
