Hi,

I need to find software that can download ALL windows updates to a folder so I can install on multiple PCs (As opposed to EVERY pc downloading all the updates individually and chowing bandwith/times etc) and without using a WSUS server..

Any advice?? - Im looking at AutoPatcherXP at the moment, I used one a aaages ago that downloaded to a repository and was more of a network management tool.

Um, nevemind, found something...How do I delete this thread lol?

LoL, I couldnt remember what I used aages ago (as opposed to WSUS) and when searching the net I found an old post where I advised "LanGuard", I also found that WSUS is probably the best option so Im gonna run with that for now instead anyway..

If anyone does have a suggested solution OP I'd love to have it.

LanGuard is awesome, but its a trial...WSUS can only be installed on a server

This one looks perfect, how big is the patch repository for just XP/Vista machines...?

Also, do you include service packs?

Can only give you a fuzzy answer, as I've been using Win7 for 3 months, and Vista for 18 or so before that - so my downloaded updates are only about 1GB in total for XP. Including service packs, yes, but not SP3 for the timing reasons mentioned.

Im just a bit hesistant to download ALL the updates overnight and it turns out to be like 20gig :erm:

Indeed. In XP's case, maybe it's better to simply download SP1 and SP3 (according to this, MS advises installing SP1 before SP3), then download some roll-up of all post-SP3 patches? A quick search finds this. Or check the forums for CTupdate - maybe someone can tell you what to expect in terms of size.

Spanks! Will check it out
