Hi guys

What is your Windows Vista Performance Rating:

Mine is 3.8

Processor: 5.3
Memory: 4.5
Graphics: 3.9
Gaming graphics: 3.8
Primary hard disk: 5.4

Would be interesting to know.

5.6

proccesor 5.6
memory 5.9
graphics 5.9
Gaming graphics 5.9
Primary harddisk 5.7

Yeah mine is almost the same as stefan9's

proccesor 5.7
memory 5.9
graphics 5.9
Gaming graphics 5.9
Primary harddisk 5.9

If I could just get the CPU to play along and give me 5.9 for a full score...

Mine's 3.9, having my RAM actually running at DDR400 kinda lifted my score by 2 points. I managed to have my RAM running and 333 since I got my pc, it's a hidden BIOS setting, lol ;)

Processor AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+ 3.9
Determined by lowest subscore

Memory (RAM) 1.00 GB 4.5
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 6600 4.0
Gaming graphics 511 MB Total available graphics memory 3.9
Primary hard disk 5.5
Windows Vista (TM) Ultimate

both of their specs are in their sigs...

Hard Drive is Raptor 150GB.
I don't put too much faith in the scores as even if I underclock my gfx card by 300MHz I still get 5.9 so... :/
Ready boost or setting your swap file to flash drive seems to boost HD score. or maybe it's just me :D

Does ReadyBoost actually work? Haven't got vista yet, have to wait till next week to try it out.

btw shockG the link in your sig is broke

ReadyBoost works best for PC's with 1GB or less RAM. Above that I'm not sure if the performance gains are that great, I've seen the benchmarks, it does work pretty well with little memory as it subsidises that with flash memory and uses it together with Super Fetch.

Lol ShockG, get rid of that bold html code.. its going into the web address.

4.2 ..Too bad about the processor

Using nforce driver version 15 and forceware 100.65 for gfx.

Overclocked or at stock my cpu stays at the same score.

Reradyboost works as a caching mechanism/device not really related to your ram at all. More linked to your hard drive page file than anything else.
While the data rates of USB2.0 devices are lower than that of hard drives, the almost zero access time makes them ideal for caching of frequently used files. Like for booting etc...

Superfetch utilises ReadyBoost for its caching. If you have more ram instead of ReadyBoost then Superfetch would use the ram, which is faster than a USB drive.

So having more ram renders ReadyBoost more and more useless as you actually have no need to cache much more than about 2 or 3GB. It still makes a difference, but much smaller than using a machine with 512mb.
