My friends and I have a Vista SP1 install file. We are trying to determine whether it is the final version (RTM'd 4th February)
Since our Epic-Level Scrying spells didn't reveal anything useful, I thought I'd ask here.
The file's modification date is 2008-02-06... but that could mean anything. (Probably the date that the torrent finished downloading.)
Once installed, the "System Information" tool (in Accessories, also the one that annoyingly opens when you double-click nfo files on most PCs) shows "6.0.6001.18000" as the version of the Windows HAL. That's the only full version number (Kernel and full build) shown on the opening page.
The install file has a version "6.0.6001.17???" in it's extended information. It is less than 18000 but it doesn't match the build number of any of the leaked builds before RTM, so it might just be a number that wasn't updated when the file was built or the build number of the installer, rather than the service pack contained therein.
Any ideas?
