Windows Vista vs Linux

Accessing the web with Ubuntu et al should be easy as you'll only need to ask your sysadmin about an open Ip address, the gateway and DNS particulars and all that... then it must work, ISA server or not (and if said IP address is not blocked).

LOL! I have better chance of falling pregnant through wind pollination.

AFAIK - iBurst should work with most Linuxes as long as you use the Ethernet modem with PPPoE. You might need to manually adjust your MTU and MRU size tho...

Its a USB terminal?

Also, I buggered up on the VMTools installation so now I need to restore to just after the installation, how do I do that?

Reading through everything, I started this post and forgot about it :D . But essentially what it what boils down to me is that I know Windows already, and I just don't feel like learning a new linux distro. I don't care about setting up my connection over PPOE, I don't want to know how to setup my PC to act as SMB file server or router (I have a billion router by the way, setup to DHCP, put in my ADSL username and password and I was away, nice and easy, if anyone wants free unshaped internet, you need to find my house :) ) I am considering getting a Mac though, not very another reason than me being brainwashed by their marketing.

Then for your sake I suggest you stay with Windows. From my brief experience with this Linux thing today, it pays homage to the true computer nerd that girls dont go out with :D

If windows works for you then stick with it. It's like the saying goes, if it's not broken, don't fix it. I started using linux because being able to run multiple high CPU usage applications at the same time was important to me and I feel Microsoft is taking too much of an interest in the private data I store on my machine.
I don't think windows is better than linux or visa versa. I think that whatever lets you do what you want to do without too many hassles is the one you should go for.

In the end, the only opinion that matters is your own. :)

I don't have a problem with people using whatever works for them. I do have a problem with certain Linux users having an air of superiority about themselves. I'm fully capable of using Linux, but I don't like it. However I won't use it just because certain people seem to think that it's l33t and they're special for using it. Some might argue that it's more secure, but any OS is secure if you take the proper precautions.
