Where can I preorder it? A friend handed me the RC1 a couple of weeks ago, now he got his hands on the Final from a torrent, Build 6000 I believe it is, anyways, I just had a look at it, and well I like it.

I know alot of places where, if u order XP, theyll give u a free upgrade "coupon" or "voucher" or whatever that will allow you to upgrade to Vista at no additional charge. I saw some online shop in SA offering those coupons with XP but cant remember which one...as soon as i find it i'll post it here for u.

Why not rather get a Mac? It comes with MacOSX which is way more advanced than Vista, is faster, has prettier eye-candy and is more stable anyhow. What's also cool about the MacOS is that with each new version, the OS actually runs faster,
compare that to Windoze. I bought my first Mac, 2 months ago and I haven't looked back.

Don't you mean "Macs suck"?

Funny thing, most people who edit video/do 3D modelling/graphics
and photo editing work on Apple Macs. BBC/CNN/etc use Macs to edit their
segments. Movie production companies use Apple products like Shake
to do compositing work on movies like the LOTR series and Harry Potter.
Anyhow I used to be a PC user(still am), still have 2 Windoze machines,
but my Mac is just so much easier to use and more intuitive than Bill Gates
Windoze XP and now Vista, while the spiffy graphics of Vista are here
and now (Aero is a rip-off of Aqua). I definately won't buy Vista, with its added
abstraction layers to slow down my computers even more.

You've proven his point, he said it was because he wants something more diversified, and all you can say is that its good for video and image editing etc..
After that.. theirs gaming and general use where it would suffer more.. a lot more when you look at the applications you can use on a Mac. You will have to resort to a lot more inferior products on a Mac, besides all the editing stuff obviously.

Oh, but you are right about the slowing down. I would also consider using a Mac if everything could just work on it..
