Windows XP connecting to WAN miniport

Hello,

I have always encountered this problem when using Windows XP and trying to establish ADSL connection and it goes "connecting wan miniport" and nothing happens.
Do you have any idea on this problem? I would appreciate it much if you could helpme on this problem.

Which modem are you using ?

Mine does that exact problem. (XP SP1 with all fixes, running
McAfee Personal Firewall and Norton AV 2004). Only happens
when the computer boots up.

I have to go to device manager, network adaptors, remove the
My Modem (RFC...) device, Windows picks it up, installs it again
and only then does the ADSL connection work fine after that.

Dunno why, it just started doing it out of the blue and reinstall
of firewall, drivers etc. all havent fixed this annoying problem.
