Windows XP Installer

Hey all

Does anyone know what would cause this to happen... While installing a fresh copy of Win XP I noticed that on the format progress screen there are sectors that are a darker yellow/ grey area.... what does that mean.... coz its weird i have never seen it before... or could it be bad sectors on the hard drive that cannot be formatted???

never seen it either, but I agree with your guess. Must be sectors that have been written off as unrecoverable.

Never heard of that or seen it. Isn't it the monitor probably?

Yeh i also thought it could be the GFX card causing this which I will check out just now but i just finished installing windows and I dont see any streaks across the screen so i dunno what could cause that but as i said above it could be the GFX card...
