Windows XP source code leaked

Is there anyone still using xp for something big or important?

I know people love to say the US military still uses it, well yes they do, however they paid for support after MS discontinued the OS and the systems that rely on it are not connected to the internet.

Russian government is still a user of it (Putin still uses it).

Ive come across networks that still have at least one Windows XP machine running. Sometimes its the OS running hardware (Ive even come across windows 3.1 in the wild running hardware), other times its supporting some antiquated accounting system.

My CNC milling machine needs a parallel port. Which means it needs an old computer to work. Have it hooked up to an old Acer laptop that belonged to my granny. No connection to any network though.

Say what you want about XP, it still runs very nicely with 128mb of RAM :)
 
My old Acer lappie still has XP on and I still use it from time to time. Aspire 5680 with 1GB of RAM. It was a boss in it's day. Core2duo and all. Bit slow now.

It does run good yeah, previous employment I ran a spark eroder and EDM machine, one ran on 95 and the other on 98, they worked brilliantly, just the electronics were too archaic to maintain.

Microsoft created a secret Windows XP theme that made the operating system look more like a Mac. A recent Windows XP source code leak has revealed Microsoft’s early work on the operating system and some unreleased themes the company created during its early XP development back in 2000.

One is labeled “Candy” and includes a design that closely resembles Apple’s Aqua interface that was first introduced at the Macworld Conference & Expo in 2000. Although the theme is incomplete, the Windows XP Start button and various buttons and UI elements are clearly themed to match Apple’s Aqua.
