Sneaky user is sneaky.

When I went to site, the laptop was not available. Nor the next day.

But it was available all of a sudden this morning.

Browsing it, I can see that Firefox only have history for today and yesterday.

Is there some app or program I can use to ferret the missing information out?

BTW - the laptop is chomping up data even though nothing's connected. I suspect the luser went to some "bad" sites...

Install transparent proxy on your network. Firewall off direct connections, peruse proxy logs at leisure.

I just want to wipe and reinstall Winders on that laptop. Quickest and easiest. damagement want otherwise.

Before you attempt anything, lets be sure of what the cause is.

Open command prompt and type:

tasklist

Paste the output here. You may also do a netstat -ano and post those results here aswell so I can take a look what's happening for you.

To make things easier, cd to \Desktop and write it to a text file like so "wmic process list & netstat -ano > tasklist.txt" as one line command, keeping in mind you need cmd open in admin mode


On that note, you do not need to upgrade or anything, it's probably malware or something else.
