I was driving along minding my own business when a bastard stone decided to fly into my windscreen causing me a fright and my windscreen a hurt.

There is a chip out of it now with some crack lines snaking outwards.

I remember seeing some TV adverts about some place that can repair this inexpensively, can someone recommend somewhere?

I'm in KZN

Glasfit/PG Glass, but sometimes they cannot be repaired, if it can the 100% cost should be covered by your Insurers with R0.00 excess or effect on your claims experience (once again depends on your insurer but most won't carry the claim through to punitive measures)

Thank you, I will find one near to me.
I only have third party and theft insurance.

If it's started running I doubt that they'd be able to repair it. If they want to put in a new windscreen, make sure that they put in a well-known, reliable brand. You really don't want something that warps or that doesn't fit properly.

Yes only Shatterproof not any other make.

PG Autoglass charged me R250 and 20min of my time the one time that I got a chipped windscreen... there wasn't even a car in front of me, and then i heard the stone hit the windscreen... wasn't very impressed though.

PG Autoglass fixed it and the chip didn't crack further.

Then it's probably to late for a repair. I see a new windscreen in your future.

Yup a new windscreen. I took my car in months after the jhb hail damage and the chips caused a cracked line across the windscreen in that time and had to replace the glass. Sadly my new windscreen got a chip last week again
