The windscreen washing fluid in my new Polo is finished. Anyone know what is used or can recommend an additive to put in there? They use some kind of chemical but I would rather not pay VW prices if i don't have to since car is months away from a service. ;)

I've been told to use Sunlight but soap does nasty things to paint work...

sunlight diluted works fine ;) just a drop

but if you have car shampoo use a drop of that rather.

Go to a Shell garage, ask them to refill it with that shampoo thingy they use. It smells nice :D

i mix two teaspoons sunlight and one tea spoon vinegar to my water bottle in my Golf.

The vinegar helps to remove grime such as bugs etc

Works like a bomb

Quite honestly water is good enough, you just need something to cut through the dirt sometimes.

How can you guys use sunlight ? its has chemicals that can damage your paint.

Use any car shampoo, it will work just fine.

If you plan on going on a road trip don't use any additive just in case you get lost and need something to drink ;)
