Hi guys, I need some advice. The wipers on my car have stopped working. They are absolutely dead.

My question is to have them fixed so I go to an auto electrician as the motor appears to be dead or to a normal repair shop. Second, any recommendations on where to go in the central Cape Town area, Milnerton or Tableview. Thanks.

Try Cape Auto Electric in Maitland. Had absolutely fantastic service from these guys last week.

Have you checked your fuse box for a blown fuse?

I don't think its a fuse but I still need to check. I think its the motor because the wipers were going slower than normal and then just dead.

Could be a few things eg loose nut or wheel.
I would take it to a Bosch service centre (the car ones) as that's probably the motor it has in anyway. These motors usually are the last things to go on a car, oh I see you live in CT.

You sure its the motor? I had the same problem on my car last week. Turned out to be the hinge (where the wiper arm connects to its shaft) was blocked up and corroded. Stripped it out, cleaned it and greased it and it was working fine after that.

I think you're onto something here I had a quick look and tried to get some q20 in and the wipers have started working a little bit. However I cant get throne arm off so I can get to the whole mechanism properly.
