Wine and OLE

I am having problems with OLE support for MS Office running on Wine - there isn't any. More specifically this is between Excel and Word. Under older versions of Wine this could be fixed by downloading CrossOver, extracting the OLE32.dll.so file and using this to replace the similarly named file in Wine. They seem to have closed this loophole in the more recent versions of Wine.

Does anyone here know of a way to enable OLE support for Office on the current version of Wine?

Shouldn't you maybe try the Wine project forums? There's probably going to be more specific knowledge floating around there...

Anyway, here's my 2c worth of help (I only have 2c ): would overwriting the ole32 library not work as well? ie: in the Wine configuration window > Libraries > specify a new override for ole32 > Edit button > select 'Native' and then 'Apply' button.

Dont know if that would help at all...
