Wine with Vulkan wrapper

I've tried Wine before and couldn't even get normal Blizzard games to run, never mind the more intensive stuff. This was 2014. The time before that when I tried them was 2010. Have they improved or is it still a PITA?

Currently just running a KVM with Windows 10 with GPU passthrough when I game
 
I tried too much wine once and woke up with a moerse headache!!! Oh. wait..................

Wine is being developed at a rapid pace. Wine 1.8 released in December 2015 is a big improvement on the previous version 1.6.2 released in October 2014.

Improvement how? Can I just copy WoW or Hearthstone or Heroes of the Storm onto my Linux drive, fire up Wine and run the game? Or do I have to jump through a few thousand hoops still? (because the 2014 I tried it because there was a "huge improvement" since the last time I tried it)
 
Thanks, might try it. So far pretty happy with my Unraid setup loading my Windows 10 install with GPU passthrough, no performance issues
