I caught this story on E-News last night but the papers don't seem to have picked it up - or are choosing not to:

All sense of order deteriorated into joy over a rare public appearance by Nelson Mandela on Friday, as he arrived at the University of Limpopo to witness his grandson Zinhle Dlamini taking the Hippocratic Oath.
The crowd sang, danced, screamed and applauded as the 91-year-old Madiba journeyed to his seat, assisted by his daughter Zenani - mother of the ‘man of the moment’, Zinhle.
“Nelson Mandela ga go yo o tshwanang le wena [Nelson Mandela, there is no one like you]”, the crowd sang.
Mandela waved to the cheering crowd as his ex-wife Winnie Madikizela-Mandela took to the podium as guest speaker for the event.
Madikizela-Mandela confessed: "I was very anxious about being here today as I had to figure out how to say something intelligent to this highly educated class of 2009".
"I feared that I would be telling you things that you already knew and as for the students they would be thinking ’oh no, not another lecture’."
Madikizela-Mandela joked that already at this stage of her speech that some would be thinking ’oh just get on with it’.
"At my age I don’t do short speeches, nor do I do funny - I leave that up to Julius (Malema)."

What followed and was not reported on was an apology from Madikizela-Mandela to Nelson Mandela regarding what the ' youth ' were saying which was not in keeping with the vision of the ANC of Nelson Mandela.

Listening to her speech there was no doubt as to which particular ' youth ' she was referring to.

Interesting.
 
Yes, I saw that too. On e news this morning. When I didn't see anything about it in the press (the sorry Tata bit) I thought maybe I misheard what she was apologising for.

Now I know I wasn't hearing things, was early enough to be...;)
 
Well that is amazing! That is the VERY first time that I have actually agreed with Winnie!! Nice one!!
 
Doesn't really help when King super hero JZ endorses him as our future leader tho...
 
Only a collective reprimand from senior ANC structures will mean anything to me. Until then, I expect JM to continue with his "speak first, think later" mentality.
 
The ANC is going to have a serious "gathering soon".

To many "in-fights".

Think it can only be good for the democratic freedom of SA if the ANC splits into two or more.
