Does anyone know how much and how long it will take to transfer $1000 USD to Romania Bank account. And what documents will be required, I bank with ABSA, and currently out of the country, but I can do internet banking and EFT money to my cousin to do this on my behalf.

Other options that I've considered is MoneyGram & WesternUnion, I don't know much about them, perhaps fellow myBB citizens could offer some advice.

Kind Regards,

PS! I want to buy ACER ASPIRE 5780DZG with 3D display.

Buying from Romania? Do u trust this person you are buying from? Because once the money is transferred, there is nothing you can do should it turn out to be a scam...

Good advice there.

If they don't do a deal with Visa or Master Card, then don't do business with them, because rest assured they're scammers.

I see many SA online stores ask for EFT - I don't do business with them either - I enjoy the security Visa builds into all transactions.

I'm buying from a Romanian, I'm with him in Angola, and I don't have cash to give to him, so I want my cousin in SA to send money to his wife on my behalf.

You can go to any bank and do a Telegraphic Transfer (T/T). Takes on average 3-4 days for the money to go into the recipients account. Cost is around R200
Alternatively, you can use Western Union. Not sure of the exact costs, but the transfer is instant and is available at any absa bank.
