I have a wireless Linksys router/4 port switch and I've connected my media streamer to it via ethernet. It also connects to another PC wirelessly for file transfer.
The issue is that the wired section seems to die when there's no activity (when I'm not streaming. for example) after a few minutes - and I need to reboot before it works. If I reboot and start streaming straight away, all seems ok. However as soon as it stops, I lose the connection after a few minutes & it won't reconnect. till a reboot. Almost like a 'sleep when idle' connection!
The wireless between the two PCS always works though & I have no issues. I assume that because of this, its not the router. Also I never need to turn it off to make it work ; only the PC.
Any ideas?
