More on XCLUSIV. FTP and VOIP friendly.
Quick note guys.
FTP and VOIP welcome of course. We LIVE by it too.
We do however NOT allow for P2P on the internet. But we ARE busy setting up a bit-torrent P2P inside our network though so you can P2P among all our own clients. But we do not allow P2P over our own networks. It would simply trash our bandwidth and our customers would suffer.
Uncapped?? Well our service was and for a few weeks still is totally uncapped on a reliable line. But THAT provider of ours is now changing their own systems and so as of 3 weeks from now or so our "uncapped" is still uncapped but a little crippled. We have another real uncapped line but the quality is unpredictable and not up to standard. Its the only one we can get in SA though. As soon as our client base can justify it, we can upgrade our own telkom lines to truly uncapped raw bandwidth again pushing R35,000+/m each. So for the next 3 or 4 months (I hope) we will have to stick it out with the slightly unreliable line if you are a heavy user i.e. over 7gigs. Below that we are happy to put you on our primary lines and you get the stable high speed throughput.
I don't see the problem with the install fee and 6 months minimum. Come on guys. Really! This equipment is friggen expensive. If you don't want to pay the install fee, then buy the equipment outright, lets say R3000, then pay the technicians 600 to install it, and then I'd be glad to have you as a month by month customer.
We are not unreasonable either. If you have to move in 60 days to another home because yours is flooded or you are reassigned to a new job, then we are happy to work with you and part as friends before 6 months. Too bad so many people have this "the world is out to get me" mentality. If you don't like the service in 3 days, or a week, then bitch! Usually is more like. WOW WOW WOW but hey, each to his own.
My only concern with people complaining about the minimal install fee is that I must wonder about their ability to pay the monthly 500 fee. Will I end up with chargeback's, bad debit orders and constant "please pay now you are late again" reminders. We are busy working on a new pricing option, something like, if you don't want to pay the install fee up front, we can break it up over 6 months, so you pay an extra 200 / month for the first 6 months or 100 for 10 months etc. Something like that. Just keep in mind guys, 3 clients a day and 22 days a month. That is 66 units and installation paychecks we have to finance. Then add in the TELKOM costs for infrastructure at 49 bazillion rands.... Its VERY expensive. So work with us okay.
If you are terrified that you will not be happy, you probably wont EVER be happy. Best move along. But hey, here's an idea... Give me a call and I will see if I can organise for you to come plug your notebook onto the network and give it a try so you can see for yourself. We hope to have a public demo unit available somewhere soon.
As for iBurst, yes is nice, but better is HSDPA, if you have coverage for either, but what do you pay per gig? And do you have a house to mortgage? I'd love to give you all an account for free for life. Really. But what would be the point? and who would pay for it. If someone has a grampa with bazills to donate to a trust, we'd be happy to provide free service to those who couldn't afford it. Or at least not HAVE to charge you for setup and equipment. Soon we will be adding about 50+ clients a month which means we outlay closer to R200,000 in hardware alone PER MONTH. How long you think it takes to recover THAT?
You are welcome to try one of our competing networks, at FIVE to SEVEN "TIMES" (as in X ) our price and paying a huge install fee. This is my last post about the subject. Its dinner time and I am outa here.
Best wishes, to all. Deon
