So basically my new flat complex got fiber, they are using cat6 lan cables to wireless ac wifi thingies. What I want to know is, is the price of a wireless ac adapter(over usb3) going to worth the price? I think its about 1k for wireless ac adapter, is it noticeably faster?

Its going to make some things faster (like streaming) but you wont necessarily have a faster connection to the internet. They will more than likely limit the connection speed of each user anyway.

Even if they don't the fiber is max 50 meg and the wifi is 1 gig. Your old wifi adapter will be 100meg and will be faster than the fiber.

Keep in mind the amount of streams

For example the Samsung S4 supports 'ac' but only a single stream which means a max ever theoretical 433Mbps, which is close to to some 'n' systems.

I'd wait a little longer myself

they installed 10gbit fiber, asked and begged for lan cable but they wont install on in my flat, as far as I know they wont be limiting the speed, will I notice a speed increase on my usent dl's?
