Currently I use Netgear RangeMax Access Points for my 802.11b/g needs in buildings. Anyone know of any other brands in South African that offer a very high range, especially when trying to maximise the wireless range in buildings with fewer devices. I have also used D-Link, but found the Netgear ones more stable.

Problem isn't really the AP's but rather the clients, laptops generally have very low power output so your AP's need to be closer and have good receive sensitivity. There are a lot of factors to consider, what are the internal walls dry wall, brick, concrete with or without reinforcing.

I can concur with the previous poster, the Pico Stations are very good.

The buildings are mixed, though generally all have some form of reinforcing... the steel ones being a real pain. Thanks for the input.

Its pointless improving the range of an AP in a building, because you haven't improved the range of the PC.
Wifi is a 2-way thing, they both have to be as good as each other.
The best way to do a building installation, is to increase the number and density of your APs.
