Wireless ADSL last mile in Lonehill

I'm sick and tired of Telkom's excuses... Is there a service provider out there that can give me wireless ADSL? Please

We are running a trial special at the moment:

1Mb Uncapped - R 559 per month
2Mb Uncapped - R 662 per month
5Mb Uncapped - R 855 per month

We will provide the first month free and include a free wifi router.

These prices may change in the future but we are busy gauging market response and user feedback.

Why do so many wireless providers limit the upload to match ADSL? Surely one of the benefits of the service is the ability to provide synchronous bandwidth?

Clients are still going to upload the same amount of data in the end and to me an FTP upload or more important sending emails quickly would be a great bonus.

This is assuming your WISP has decent connectivity like fibre and is not load balancing across ADSL themselves.

It's Bitco, I can promise you they not using balanced ADSL :wtf: They also use carrier class equipment in their backhauls, think they running 17GHZ alcoma backhaul, so they well up to the task ! I have heard nothing but good things about them

As a BitCo representitive I can say the following:

We run our own dark fibre in Johannesburg area and high capacity radio backhauls to towers not in reach of the fibre. I can promise you BitCo is not using bonded DSL and our core network runs close to 1Gb capacity. We are already busy with plans to increase this to 10Gb.

On our core network I can currently download a DVD in a few minutes.

I was not referring to any specific provider and merely commenting on the speedtest showing 5 down and 1 up. So many WISP's offer asynchronous service where they could just as easily offer synchronous. If you have a technical advantage being the ability to offer faster upload speeds, why would you not use it?

On a capped package I can not see any reason, and on an uncapped yes there is room for abuse by torrents, but is this not something all ISP's already manage.
