Hi all

This is something which I never really gave lots of thought, but I have been getting all kinds of "stories" from "smarty pants" people pretending they know what it is/does.

What do these settings REALLY do? (I have a feeling not much ;))

Thanks :)

It's important because the earth is a sphere. If you enter it correctly, your device can compensate for the rotation of the earth at your specific location by polarizing the signal as is needed. It will still work if you don't, but you loose some efficiency.

Diffrent Countries have diffrent frequency ranges that is used.
RSA might have 12 available frequencies, while Japan might have 16 available.
Nothing else.

I got to remember this one :D

wetkit, thought it was something simple like that, some people make it sound like that is the setting that makes or breaks the AP ... and possibly makes the earth go round :P

Hmm not in A+. I need to write to them to change the course material. ;) ;)

All that is different is the frequencies which it enables you to broadcast on. If you are in SA u have to use SA frequency ranges unfortunately. As far as i know its enforced by SABS, not quite sure though.

Jab you are awesome!

My understanding was certain countries have restrictions on the 2.4GHZ range, we however don't.
