Wireless Bridge Help

Good moring all,

I have the following dilemma:

I live in a complex that falls under a local WISP's hotspot. I don't know enough about network protocol to explain what they setup they use, but I can tell you it's an open network, that you have to sign in to from a browser on any device you use.

What I want to know is, is it possible to set up bridge between the hotspot and a network inside my flat?

In other words, is there a setup (router) that can handle the web sign in, and then bridge the network to devices inside?

Any help would be appreciated.

It would help if you provided details about the ISP in question, if you want specific answers.
However, in general terms, you would need to automate the connection to the portal, possibly collecting some uniquely identifying information along the way (such as a cookie or other token) then submit a request with your credentials and the token to the captive portal, exactly as if you were logging in manually.

This is typically not something that an average router is capable of, but some can have their firmware replaced with OpenWRT, which is pretty much infinitely flexible.

Alternatively, use your router to connect to the wisp, then some other computer on your network can periodically try to connect, and do the portal submission/login part if it cannot reach the targeted site.
