Wanna start being online, i need the Xbox 360 wireless dongle.. Also wanna use Xbox as an extender... offers?

I do both.
My advise is
a) You don't need the M$ wireless dongle, most wireless bridges (or routers) will work fine and costs less
b) If you are going to use it as an extender, don't use wireless at all. It's too slow and unreliable for proper media streaming

i agree with Mier's point a) but disagree with b) because my whole home network is wireless and everything is working 100%, even when streaming video to both my xbox and ps3 at the same time, while downloading stuff off the interwebs, the network seemed pretty stable to me

depends on your physical layout I guess. I can the network analysis tool in MCE and it reckons my particular wireless layout is suitable for streaming normal telly, but not HDTV, so I'd say to wired, there's also less interference from other WLANs.

a) I have the router but need a wireless connection from Xbox to Router... My Xbox doesn't have wireless on it! & my router is situated on a different room so can't go wired easily... I bought the wireless dongle (R999) and regret buying Xbox Arcade... The Xbox which comes with wireless would have cost me at least R500 less..

b) Not sure about this! Will check after i managed to configure my wireless.. Will start a new thread asking how to do this!!!!

I don't think any Xboxs have wireless ?

No Xbox 360 has built-in wireless. A ethernet port yes!

The wireless adapter or ethernet cable plugged into a WAP (Wireless Access Point) will work just dandy.

Only thing you must do is change the MTU value of your router (so that the 360 can connect to your network and get Internet access).

EDIT: MTU (I stand corrected but it its the Maximum Transmission Unit). Its a setting in your router console (the manual or ipconfig will give you your router IP address). Type it in the browser of the PC that is connected to the router, and change the MTU there [1374 or something like that])

I'd probably go for a new PC while you're at ... perhaps a 22" monitor too

I have the wireless dongle on my Xbox and found that setting a fixed IP for the Xbox made the connection a lot more reliable.
