Hi guys.

I saw this amazing WISP but unfortunately they are only in Johannesburg.

64kbs Uncapped - R100
128kbs Uncapped - R150
256kbs Uncapped - R200
384kbs Uncapped - R250
512kbs Uncapped - R300
1Meg Uncapped - R500
2Meg Uncapped - R1000

Don't know what the ratio is but the speeds are good.
2Meg = 256kB/s

I can do with a connection like this. Even 1Meg will be fine.

If they can charge this why can't other WISP's charge the same?
 
Did you perhaps take any notice of what this WISP is called?
 
Wonder how they do it, considering the have to pay someone for up-stream... but then maybe ratios on the outside are high

I smell a RAT, there is no way they can offer these packages at those prices.

..... Yeah maybe u are connected to their highsite @ 2mbit and can use resources on their network but I really dont think you are gonna get 2mbit international for R1000
 
If it's a pretty heavily contended satellite return path then its quite possible..
 
Their website is broken if you click on Products:What do you get and the Products:What do you need is for pre-XP systems
 
I have investigated these guys a long time ago when I was checking out options for internet access. Their site looks very dodgy, hardly works properly. It is almost immpossibly good prices, why is noone on their network even on MyADSL, they should be the biggest WISP with these kind of prices.

Probably a scam with very high install costs or just terrible speeds and contention. Still worth looking into though, if you can get a test and this actually works then its great. 1MB uncapped for R500 (final cost seeing as it is a WISP) is amazing! Best deal in SA by far.
 
Well I've emailed then like last year sometimes.
There's also a thread about them, dunno if it still exists.
But on their site they;ve been advertising about getting 1 & 2 megabits for a while now....
So guess they are upgrading.....although they dont reply to emails.
Anyways, anyone knows anyone who's on their service? Or which area they're in, in JHB
