 Hi I need help please. I purchased a Gigabyte AirCruiser G access point and set it up at work and tested with my laptop and it all worked fine connecting no problem. I took it home and plugged it in but laptop refuses to connect at home showing incorrect passkey in the event viewer. Yet I had not changed it from the settings I tested at the office. I tried setting different channel no joy. The only way it would work was turning all security off. I took both back to the office today and tested again and it works fine there. I have disconnected anything wireless near my pc at home yet still no joy. Any Ideas Please.

The problem is obviously between your work and home.

The only way to resolve this is to find out exactly at which point during your journey home from work it stops working.

You then need to move house to the area located just before the "non-working" area.Hopefully this area is not a squatter camp but even if it is, it wont matter as you will have working wireless!

Or you could try using a 3rd party wireless app like NetStumbler to test.

I would go for the first option though, much easier.

that was humorous!!!!!

The problem has to be something small, because it makes no sense.. Ur using the same laptop and wireless router in two different locations and they work only at 1. It must be environment related. have u changed the wireless network name to something unique?

Solved it. It was a power issue. At work the laptop was plugged in at home running on batteries. Just changed power option for wireless card for when running on battery to maximum performance and problem solved. So I dont need to move house. Nice idea though.
