I recently set up a small wireless LAN between three PC's (a base station PC with a Mecer Wireless Router under W2000, a P4 under XP with Mecer wireless LAN card and my Compaq notebook). This network is up and running nicely. My problem - I tried to link my Intel dual-core 3 GHz under XP x64 by using a Mecer 54 Mbps 802.11g wireless LAN card to the existing wireless network without success. It seems that the driver supplied by Mecer / Mustek is not XP x64 compatable. Any suggestions how I could get the Dual-core PC on the network ?

Google 64 bit drivers [insert wireless card here]
and voila they should be available unless you have some obscure old card

Hi Bjorn,
The card is "new" - it is a Mecer Wireless LAN 54 Mbps 802.11g card purchased in December 2005.

Your wireless card for the 64 Windows needs to be a 64Bit Card and not the standard 32Bit PCI Card.

Hi Person, thanks for the info. Could you suggest a 64 bit wireless card that I can use with the Mecer Router and other Mecer wireless cards? Is a wireless PCI LAN card the only way or is there a USB device available? (I only have 1 PCI slot left on the main board)
