Yay! I got mine on Friday ... what a nice little thing.

The trackball thingy-majig is very nice, and you get used to it quite easily. I am still struggling a bit with the side buttons (very stiff) and the secondary click button (right-click). Sometimes I get it, and sometimes not.

But I am really impressed. Nothing like a bunch of Apple accessories all lined up on the desk.

O/T: I got it at the new iStore in Menlyn ... very nice shop. All so clean and clinical :D

Only just got it now? I've had it a while now but rarely use the side buttons - it's configured for exposé atm until I can figure out a better use.

Yip, didn't want to commit to more Apple hardware unless I was sure I would be able to use it every day (Next is an extra 1Gb stick). And now I know, so I thought I'd give the new iStore a try.

Mine is also on expose, and I find it quite useful.

Caution - small children find them very appealing too which can cause problems being as it has no tail

I also have a cordless keyboard coming with the mini which will probably also go MIA. :)

I've lost 2 keyboards in total ... little one trying to play with it, and pulling it off the table ... one reason why its better to have them without a tail :p

Well hopefully my kit will arrive this week otherwise I might start selling off that ram :p

Must look into upgrading the cpu to a c2d soon. :)

How I hope your kit NEVER arrives :p

Is it possible to upgrade the Core Duos to C2Ds?

Ag, don't be such a baby :D

Yeah, whateva! Notebooks and upgrades are never friends :(

I only read the specs on the Mighty Mouse yesterday and was overly impressed. Added to the fact that my current cordless mouse has a range of about 2 meters (logitech) which is not far enough to tune the Mac when attached to the TV and me sitting in the BOSS seat in the lounge, so I got one this morning... pity i did not bring the macbook in to work today so I will have to wait till tonight.

I have tried to find the dpi of the mighty mouse but can't seem to find it in the specs - does anyone have an idea what it is - must be better than the normal 800 dpi of your run of the mill mouses seeing it has laser tracking??

I was also in the market for a new mouse but is abit on the steep side.

Maybe I will get one later in the year... just worried that it would not work properly with WOW

The normal Mighty Mouse is running at 800 DPI at under normal Optical and the Wireless Mighty Mouse is running through 1600 DPI though Laser Optics.

I come from a PC Game background so I am very used to a sensitive mouse, which Mac OSx never seems to get right for me. If you feel the same way there is a nifty app called SteerMouse. It basically takes control of both the hardware and software sensitivity of the mouse and puts it in your hands.

Give it a try it's pretty cool.

Is it worth the money.... I was standing with one in my hand over the weekend and it looks so nice but its just so much cash.

Not a big mouse fan - I prefer a laptop trackpad - but I like it.

Opinion...

My Personal opinion?

Wireless Mighty Mouse means trouble, I hate anything wireless, so unreliable and very prone to all sorts of interference, not to mention that the battery life is really bad... I prefer a cable, a dedicated link from point a to point b.

Lol, this is all coming from someone that uses iBurst by the way! :p and I am very happy with my iBurst use it to play World of Warcraft!

Ok back to the mouse, in essence the mouse is great if you are going to use it for your Home Theater rigged up Mac Mini or your notebook that you use frequently. If you are going to use it on your desktop iMac and you are using it for EVERYDAY use. Kiss those batteries goodbye. You get about 3 weeks out of them The Wireless keyboard a lot more.

They tend to have quite a high failure rate... Worth R600.00 +-, Personally I do not think so, rather stick to the Cable Mighty Mouse.

I know I sound pessimistic here, now you are gonna get confused! Because in the same breath the quality and precision of the laser is awesome! It's also one of the lightest of Wireless Mice out there. Not to light, just enough so your hand doesn't get cramps. Not to mention it is blue tooth and it's range is pretty impressive.

So you be the judge in the end...

And of course the weight is adjustable. :)
