Please help. I've got a new duoPlus 300WR modem/router and a broadband 5 Gb telkom AllAccess contract. Evrything is working well and I have access to internet via the LAN cable. However I cannot get the wireless connection to work. There must be mismatch of some settings which I haven't been able to discover. I have been in contact with the Telkom ADSL helpline on numerous occasions, but they have not been able to assist. The wireless connection is recognised by my computer, but is is unable to acquire the correct IP address.

Not sure which browser are you using, but if using IE try going to Tools, then internet options, connections, LAN settings, then disselect the first button under proxy server. I switch them manually every time i change from wireless to LAN or vice versa otherwise cannot connect. Also ensure to unplug LAN cable when using wireless modem. The procedure works almost the same when using firefox.

Thanks, I've already done that, but no luck. I connect via cable to the modem (ethernet) and have internet access. I somehow cannot link the pc with the modem for wireless purposes.

Do you have DHCP running for the wireless connection? Are you able to auth on the wireless network?
