I'm looking for a ADSL router that supports 802.11N, as well as having ADSL with passthrough. Meaning that the router can dial up, and share the ADSL connection with the network, and then any PC on the network can also dial-up independently. I believe this is also called half-bridged mode.

My current Billion router does do passthrough but unfortunately does not do 802.11N wireless.

I need to find a router that does this quite urgently, any help would be much appreciated :)

I think you want full bridge mode then
This ADSL modem can operate in two modes, Full or Half bridge

Half Bridge mode, which provides the following features

* ADSL Line Sync
* PPPoE / PPPoA IP encapsulation
* Provide IP address back

Full Bridge mode (default configuration) will provide all of the above features, plus the following

* NAT (Network Address Translation)
* Port forwarding

Thus for my netgear I have two modes (Modified DGTeam firmware)
Router
Router+Modem

I have not yet tested it with PPPoE setup yet while it is in router mode.

The original firmware could only do "Route"r or "Modem only" as selection.

Hmm, full bridge doesn't make sense, because then it's just the other PCs dialing up not the router? I guess if the router can dial up, as well as other PCs it can be looked
at as full bridge.

I got a new Netgear today actually, which has Router and Router + Modem, but it doesn't actually allow the router to connect, and then another PC to connect as well.

Thanks for the reply :)

Azgard, you could simply get another Wireless 802.11N BROADBAND (not ADSL) router that you hook up on the existing Billion router of yours. It would definitely be cheaper than to get a combined ADSL/802.11n router.
For instance, you can get a TP-Link WR1043ND (http://www.dbg.co.za/product_info.php?products_id=382) for R680 (incl VAT, ex shipping) that gives you 802.11N, 5x Gigabit ethernet + an USB2.0 port for attaching portable storage devices.
I cannot say that it supports PPPoE passthrough, but I'm 99% convinced that it would, since it states that it supports 'VPN passthrough'. You can always contact the TP-Link global support via E-mail. I've E-mailed them 2 days ago and they responded within an hour.

Alternatively, you could try to get your hands on a Netgear DGN3500, which is both an ADSL & 802.11N router: http://www.netgear.com/Products/RoutersandGateways/WirelessNRoutersandGateways/DGN3500.aspx
Unfortunately it might not be that easy to get hold of, since you'll probably just get Australian sites selling this router. The other problem that I have with it is its price: R1350 (AU$ 190).

I've only recently heard of that router, since I asked for a complete all-in-one solution a day or 2 ago (ADSL, 802.11n, gigabit LAN, PPTP VPN clients, static routing & USB for removable storage): http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...-WiFi-1Gbps-LAN-PPTP-VPN-clients-with-routing

Well this is actually going to be for my office, not my house. Should probably have mentioned that, so I can't use my current router.

I did actually suggest using a router like mine, with a 802.11N wireless router, but everyone else would prefer to just use one wireless router. Since it's for the office
cost isn't really that much of an issue either.

I'll definitely look into the TP-Link and that Netgear one. We might just go with using the router in full router mode and not worry about the bridge mode for now, since
it's really becoming a mission to get wireless 802.11N with ADSL and passthrough :-/
