I have a pc connected to sentech and it has a wireless usb adapter. I have a laptop with built in wireless. I want the laptop to connect to the sentech connection to go on the internet at the same time as the pc. how can i do this?

I dont have my xp computer to hand but if you right click to get properties of the sentech conection (in networking) there should be a tab or box that says share internet connection.

ok

im using xp pro. tried that internet connections sharing, didnt work. When i open the browser on the other pc its not going anywhere but wants to connect to the net...

Is your default gateway of "the other pc" set to the IP of the your connection sharing PC?
Can ping that PC?

How does the modem connect to the PC? USB / Ethernet?

Try creating an Ad-hoc network between the PC and the laptop. Do that by enabling ad-hoc on the PC's wireless USB adaptor, and giving it a SSID. Also, make the IP address op the Wireless USB adaptor 192.168.0.1. On the laptop, connect to wireless network, and set IP to "Obtain automatically".

Make sure you share the internet connection.

That *should* do the trick.

one more thing. I use an adhoc wireless connection with my sentech usb modem. The MTU on both the laptop's wireless adapter and pc's wireless adapter should be changed. I'm currently using 1458 which works well.
Search google for DRTCP if you dont have it already
