So I recently got a new Samsung Wireless Printer, it prints great but one of the main reasons I chose this specific model (CLX3180 FW) was due to wireless printing. I have set it up and managed to get it to work wirelessly, sort of.

In order to set up the wireless network I had to connect the printer to the router upstairs in order for it to get a IP address, once it was assigned one I went into the address (a 192.xxx.x.xxx) and the Samsung wireless interface opened. I set up the wireless and printed something and it worked great. Did the same on my brothers laptop and also smooth sailing, worked perfectly. Then I had to move it back to the room where we keep the printer. The issue is that most of the upstairs is covered by one router (lets call it Smith 1) and a second router ,Smith 2, downstairs covers my room and the room opposite where the printer is. I get a signal overlap but this room doesn't. So on setting up the printer in its rightful place I discovered I couldn't print wirelessly anymore and came to the conclusion (well this is what the printer told me) that the signal from Smith 1 was just too weak. The printer can connect to Smith 2, and so can I from my room but the whole point was that no one needed to shlep a laptop with them to print anymore.

The one option that came to mind was setting up WDS. An issue is I believe it can only handle WEP passwords and that is a major inconvenience since I would have to set up everyones phones, iPads, laptops and PS3 again. Is there any other option you might be able to think of? I don't have much room for maneuverability with the Smith 1 router as it has to be in range of the actual modem. I could try moving the printer around but it is confined to the one room and I am not too sure how much it might help. Any other thoughts? Thanks

have you tried changing the channels that the routers transmit on?

And the issue reappears. Any ideas? The printer has a IP address, it says it is connected to the network on the printer but my mac says it isn't. My firewall is off, this is truly mystifying.
