i have a 3g phone connected to the internet. Now i have my netgear router/accesspoint connected to my pc or laptop via lan.How do i redirect the internet to be broadcast over my netgear router.Cause i need to connect a psp to the router to test the wifi and internet.

I tried a shared connection but it doesnt seem to work..DO i have to bridge a connection somewhere or must i set the psp ip address to so something else.At the moment the accesspoint has no security.
I know its possible cause i connected the ps3 like this a while back, but i did get a dns error sometimes.
SO whats the easiest way to do this just with these 3 things.

Hi there

Firstly, make sure you 3g connection is shared and the connection can connect without any problems. Then login to your router and disable the DHCP server of the router.

You see m$ internet connection sharing has a native dhcp. Meaning you share a dialup modem for example, and then plug your notebook into a normal switch and set the other clients to obtain automatically. They will be automatically fed an ip address and a dns address of the shared computer. Thats why when you set Internet Connection Sharing, its sets your Lan NIC to 192.168.0.1

So back to the point. You just need to disable the dhcp of the router and plug a network cable from notebook to router, dont use the WAN port. Not yet, first try and do it this way, the easier way. .

Once the routers DHCP has been disabled. Reboot or re-obtain IP addresses on clients. It should pickup the offers from your notebook.

i i did disable the dhcp on the router but the psp times out to get a ip address.
Also communication with the server failed...dns error occurs.

not to worry i added the dns server address from the 3g connection and everything started working again. The psp is connected to the net and the ps3 can do this now.
I think i need to put in 2 dns addresses cause when the connection gets terminated i think it changes.wILL post back if it is so.
