Wireless Provider Help

Hi All,

I live in Glen Austin, our Telkom cables have been stolen 20 times !! The 3G coverage is really bad, can anyone recommend a wireless provider, I use roughly 30Gb a month. I am willing to pay for a decent connection.

Is you uncapped package subject to a Fair user policy ?

Same problems here, I am not far from you and didnt get any signal from bitco. You can also try comtel and also amobia as they both offer free LOS tests (bitco will do a test only after you sign a quote). 30Gb is not even close to the FUP policy, comtel will start slowing your service from 200gbs depending on the connection you select.
 
Hmm, left me wondering what to do, a friend of mine suggested that try Urbanet wireless. They are doing a free LOS this afternoon, I am not prepared to have to sign a quote to get a LOS test done. If I come right lived666 I will let you know.

Yeh that also irked me about bitco but it wasnt a problem to cancel. I havent heard about Urbanet, but comtel were quick to do and confirm a LOS and they offer an uncapped unshaped service at similar if not cheaper than bitco with a rent to buy option on the equipment and with a month to month option. Try Naresh on 0837898070.
 
did you go with them, what is there service like ? I think Urbanet are a division launched by quite a large ISP to tackle the wireless market, not quite sure yet, will find out more when they come to do the LOS,

Just had comtel finish the installation - working great, I am so happy to be off 3G and uncapped :))

The installed on Friday, the wanted to test the equipment for 24 hours before activation, so far I am a happy man.

Tests so far from their network. I am on the 4 MB uncapped

Download average (tested 3 times) 4077 kbps
Upload average (tested 3 times ) 3998 kbps

Latency mybroadband: 9ms
 
Hi, anyone know if comtel has coverage in the Vaal Triangle or know of a wisp in the area with decently priced uncapped access.
