Wireless Repeater

My boss has a PS3 in one room - and a wireless router a few rooms further away. Problem is the signal isn't strong enough and I suggested a repeater.

He asked me to get a little more info and a place where they sell in CPT. Anyone able to assist? Should he stick to the router brand?

Well basically you can find any wireless device that supports WDS and that will act as a repeater if you set it up with the same network settings (excluding its own ip) as the router.

However there might be a cheaper solution:

on another forum a guy suggested that the router be placed on the ceiling . . . that cos the ceiling doesnt block wifi signal as much as walls do . . .

it's worth a try, before going out to buy additional hardware
