I've purchased a Wireless-N Wifi Repeater and succeeded setting it up via my desktop PC. All wireless devices detect it, connects to internet etc, all good BUT the desktop PC now has no connectivity

The following steps were followed according to the manual

1: Change the IP address and Subnet mask in TCP/IPv4 to that of the repeater, which was 192.168.10.2 and 255.255.255.0
2: Setup required that I change the Default Gateway to the Routers LAN IP address which with D-Link is 10.0.0.2
3: Obviously entering this IP address brings up the warning message of "default gateway not the same as network segment defined in IP address...."
4: So by entering 192.168.10.1 the repeater and all wireless devices see each other and work 100% except the PC

Solution please !!

Wait now that doesnt make sense, is it connected via a lan cable or via wifi to the adsl router?
You need to have them in the same subnet if you want anything to work.
Start by setting the repeater to an IP of 10.0.0.254 with a subnet of 255.0.0.0 and then set the default gateway on it to 10.0.0.2.
Does the repeater do DHCP relay? are you using DHCP?
Lastly does your pc support the same wireless standard that the repeater is using? (wireless A,B,G,N)

Hello Bandit65

Could you perhaps give the name and model of the wireless repeater please?
