Hi,

I am an absolute amateur and not technically savvy. I have a telkom router (mega 100wr) and have a 2 port usb sharing storage server (surecom EP-9812-U). I want to connect this server to the router and be able to access the hard drive that i attach to the server wirelessly. I have set it up using network cables and have no problem accessing the hard drive on the server. However. when I use the wireless, I cannot connect to the hard drive.

I'm not sure whether this makes any difference but my router is currently in bridge mode as I am splitting my account between local and international bandwidth.

How do I get to connect wirelessly to the hard drive via my router and server?

Thanks

If your router has wireless isolation, I would disable it.
You would find it in the modem setup web page.

I have a similar problem/question.

Have on Pastel a number of companies which is currently saved to the hard disk on a desktop in the office.

I would like to use a laptop somewhere else and have access to these company files. Some other people also update these files in our office.

So ideally there must be some cloud/virtual drive where these files are saved automatically. This has the added benefit of acting as a backup.

Are they free alternatives?

Pastel does not allow concurrent modification of the data files, so only one person should ever be allowed to use the instance of Pastel at any time.

You should rather use remote control software to access the "server" with Pastel installed. Something like VNC or Windows Remote Desktop.

Thanks Andres101

I had a look and it seems that DropBox can actually help with this. The whole concept seems quite brilliant. It doubles as sync and backup and all of this at the background.
