I would recommend the Linksys WRT54G. its a great router and works well. iv been running iBurst off it for over a year without a single problem. OpenWRT rocks.

I haven't decided what to get yet for my HomeDSL [should be installed on 5th August], there is another reason I'm considering getting a separate ADSL modem [i.e. not a router that's also an ADSL modem] - if SNOTata offers DSL it might offer another flavour - like VDSL2 [wishful thinking] and I would rather just replace the DSL modem & keep the separate wireless router...

yep, as I said earlier, it is much more flexible to have them separate

also you can plug the modem into a linux PC (with 2 NICs) and do the firewall/routing on the PC and have the wireless access point behind the firewall on the LAN ...

jj I ordered the WRT54G from http://www.jump.co.za/ and they delivered via Berco Express the following day which really surprised me.

That router will cover anything we are likely to get here in sa for many years.
Do a search and check the specs, the only reason I said it might not work for you is that I thought you wanted iBurst and a adsl modem connected at the same time.

Has a good rf range as well and works well with the notebook and the networked PCs'.

well the S version is supposedly a bit faster (30% or so)... but then you need to buy an S compatible network cards ... so it is not cost effective (at least not for me)

You can still use normal G cards with Super G.

The S version also has double the RAM and flash and is thus a very usefull and more flexible platform for the new Sveasoft firmware if you are into setting up your own hotspot or mesh.

I don't think there is a router which does have ADSL port as well as ethernet port for internet, but I could be wrong.

Really doubt that aswell, There are a few Dual-Wan routers out there but generally they have 2 "WAN" ports. It does not really make sense to have a built in ADSL modem and then have another WAN port on one router. Besides if your gonna spend a few thousand on a decent Dual-Wan router you dont want to tie yourself down to ADSL.

Slight OT, if anyone is really interested in Dual-Wan routers Click Here
